We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Private Duty Nurses (RN/LPN) to provide individualized medical care for students during school hours. This role involves working closely with students, parents, and school staff to ensure the health and well-being of each student.
• Provide safe and effective nursing care to assigned students during school hours, including bus transportation.
• Maintain a positive image of the school system while exhibiting a collaborative attitude towards work.
• Ensure confidentiality regarding the medical needs of students.
• Report to the assigned work location on time and maintain regular attendance.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
• Provide medical services exclusively to assigned students and not to other individuals in the school.
• Remain visually accessible and available to the assigned student at all times.
• Handle any medical emergencies that may occur for the assigned student.
• Follow all physician orders to ensure the student is medically stable during school activities.
• Ensure appropriate medical supplies and equipment are available and in good working order.
• Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when requested, providing relevant medical information.
• Responsible for activities of daily living for students (feeding, diapering, dressing, etc.), unless directed otherwise by school staff.
• Abide by all school policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Current and active State of Maryland Registered Nursing or Licensed Practical Nursing license.
• Availability Monday-Friday during school hours, including transportation and field trips.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in pediatric nursing or similar settings is preferred.
• Ability to maintain a non-disruptive environment while providing care.
• Individual will work in a culturally diverse and stimulating environment; Individual must enjoy working in the community
• May be required to lift /assist in transferring individuals, as needed
